Everyone has to deal with them...and wait through them--those prompts to "Press 1 for English" or "Press *3208# to to speak to a human being". Our own voicemail system at the office isn't particularly user-friendly, especially if you just want to check your messages. But did you know that your iPhone can automatically dial through automated phone prompts for you? It doesn't require any extra apps; it's built right in.
Your iPhone can dial a number, pause, then continue dialing through the prompts for more numbers. The first step in doing so if figuring out what numbers to press. Below are instructions for doing this with our office's voicemail system. However, for any other voicemail system (like your bank account or internet service provider's customer support), you'll need to first call the number, and take notes as to what other numbers need to be pressed to get you to the person you want to talk to. Once you've figured out the maze of numbers, you can translate them into a single phone number for a contact in your iPhone.
