Beginning Thursday, February 13th, the eEdge Website tech training session will be held not only in our Northwest OKC training room, but also through TeamViewer as an online meeting. Due to the current spate of bad weather, we see this as an excellent opportunity to provide our agents with training without having to put themselves in danger of driving to the office. We're also looking into using this as a method for providing tech training to our Yukon business center.
A TeamViewer meeting allows the presenter to present his/her computer display to your device, to speak to remote viewers through audio and webcam video, to hear remote viewers' questions, to markup the screen as a whiteboard, and even to send files to remote viewers. And...it's FREE!
As pictured above, the TeamViewer app can be run on an iPad or Android tablet, so you can watch the training presentation side-by-side on your tablet while you work on your laptop/desktop! You can watch the meeting on your computer, but you will need to switch back-and-forth to watch the training, then to work on the training content. The tablet/computer setup is ideal.

Please take the following into consideration if you plan on attending training remotely...
- The first few sessions will may not go 100% smoothly as we are learning what works well and what doesn't. You may want to attend remote training while in the office so you can come to the training room should something go wrong.
- The online meeting will start 15 minutes before the scheduled training time. Take this time to connect to the meeting to make sure everything (such as your sound/microphone) is working.
- Issues/problems with your computer cannot be fixed remotely while training is taking place. If you cannot follow along due to a computer problem, you can continue watching or leave the meeting, then contact Wes after the training to look at the issue either remotely or in-person at the office. Again, try remote training from inside the office the first one or two times before trying it from home.
- Our free version of TeamViewer is limited to 15 remote meeting attendees at one time. Connect to the meeting early before all 15 places are taken. The office will consider upgrading to the paid version for 25 attendees based on the popularity of remote training. (The office pays for the upgrade. The app and service remains FREE for attendees.)
