Meet the KW Elite Leadership Team • leadership.kweliteokc.com
Visit this page to meet the members of the KW Elite Leadership Team who are here to support you. You can find what each of us are able to help you with and our phone numbers & email addresses to contact us. You can even find links to make an appointment with some of us for 1-on-1 or remote meetings. You can always find this page again under OFFICE ▶︎ KW Elite Leadership Team in the menu at the top of this site.

Training & Events Calendar • calendar.kweliteokc.com
You can find the office Training & Events Calendar at two locations: the full calendar is on this site under TRAINING ▶︎ Training & Events Calendar and a mini version on the main Agent Homepage at my.kweliteokc.com. You can also subscribe to the calendar here so that all events automatically show up in your Google Calendar!

Marketing Compliance • marketingcompliance.kweliteokc.com
The Marketing Compliance page linked above is EXTREMELY IMPORTANT to read & understand. Marketing violations are a very common cause of OREC fines for both new and experienced agents, and fines can be in the thousands of dollars—not only to you, but to your broker and brokerage!

The Marketing Compliance page is very long & detailed, but if there's one thing to commit to memory, it's that all of your marketing materials (anything marketing your name & real estate business) must include the following 4 components...
  1. Our registered brokerage name: Keller Williams Realty Elite or KW Elite logo
  2. Our office phone number: (405) 948-7500 (OKC) or (405) 354-4888 (Yukon)
  3. The office address: 5629 N Classen Blvd (OKC) or 1029 E Vandament Ave (Yukon)
  4. The KW franchise disclaimer: Each Keller Williams office is independently-owned & operated.

You can find this page again under OFFICE ▶︎ Marketing Compliance in the menu at the top of this site. For any marketing pieces/designs/ideas/contests you create, you should ALWAYS have them reviewed & authorized by the staff FIRST. Submit your pieces here for review & approval: marketingapproval.kweliteokc.com. You can also find this Marketing Approval form linked on our Agent Homepage under the Staff Requests section.

Office Logos • logos.kweliteokc.com
You can find official KW Elite logos in a variety of colors and file formats at the page linked above. You can also find this page under FILES ▶︎ KW Elite Modern Logos in the menu at the top of this site.

The Logos page contains PNG files with transparent backgrounds, JPEG files with solid-color bacgrounds, and a PDF file of all of our logos in a vector format for professional printing. The page also contains official KW colors in RGB, HEX, and Pantone formats. The page also contains the official KW Style Guide. If you are having anything professionally printed, you can send your designer to the Logos page for any logo formats or coloring & style information that they may need.

NOTE: Do not modify the KW Elite logos provided on the page such as recoloring or cropping/erasing/deleting text from them. They may be resized as needed, but otherwise must be used as-provided.

Reserve a Conference Room • getaroom.kweliteokc.com
You can reserve any of the 3 conference rooms in our OKC office on the page linked above. You can also reserve the OKC office training room as long as your event meets the criteria outlined on the page. You can also find this page under OFFICE ▶︎ Reserve a Room in the menu at the top of this site.

Total Market Overview • tmo.kweliteokc.com
The office keeps an monthly updated Total Market Overview (TMO) at the link above. It can also be found under FILES ▶︎ Total Market Overview in the menu at the top of this site.

The TMO lists a variety of price ranges down the first column, then for each Price Range it takes Active vs. Closed Listings to determine the Supply (in Months) for that range. It automatically color-codes the supply based on a "Seller's Market" (purple), "Balanced Market" (green), and "Buyer's Market" (blue). Finally,
you can find List vs. Sold Price and Median Days on Market (color-coded by best to worst).

The TMO is an excellent piece of data to take with you to a listing or buyer appointment, or even to share on social media (remember to also interpret the data, not just post it!).

Also, you can click File ▶︎ Make a Copy to place your own editable copy of the TMO into your Google Drive. You can then create your own more specific TMO for the neighborhood where you have a listing appointment. This expertise can place you over the top when competing against other REALTORS® for a listing!

Your New Agent Tech Info Sheet

myKW & KW Command Login
Starting at the top of the sheet, your myKW & KW Command username & password will get you logged into myKW (mykw.kw.com) and KW Command (agent.kw.com), both of which are explained in more detail farther down on this page.

Your KW Command login is the same username & password as your myKW login. KW Command is your Keller Williams CRM platform: contact database, sales pipeline & compliance, marketing designs & ad campaigns, and website & mobile app.

KW Email & DocuSign Login
  • KW EMAIL: Your KW email is managed by Google. Essentially, it has all of the speed & reliability of a Gmail address, and has many of the same features such as Google Calendar, a YouTube account, and twice the Google Drive storage of a free Gmail account at 30 GB of online storage. There are 3 ways you can access your KW email & calendar...
  1. Log in at gmail.com to use the web version of Gmail.
  2. Set up your email account on your computer in Apple Mail or Windows Mail apps.
  3. Set up your email on your phone's email app.
Wes will help you with setting up your KW email on your laptop & phone at our meeting.  Remember to bring your laptop, phone, and tablet!

  • DOCUSIGN: Your DocuSign login will also be your KW email address & the same password. DocuSign is the tool you'll use to get contracts signed online by your clients. Your DocuSign account will be set up at our meeting. Please DO NOT attempt to create it yourself before our meeting.

KW Command & eEdge Websites
  • COMMAND WEBSITE: This is a basic website that captures leads to your KW Command database, and your clients can use it to search & favorite properties. Your site is managed in your KW Command account, and you'll need to set a subdomain for your site in your KW Command ▸ Consumer settings in order to complete your site's URL. It's recommended that you set a subdomain either based on your first & last name or KW email address (e.g., weskennedy.kw.com). You can watch Wes' KW Website Setup video for help launching your site.

  • eEDGE WEBSITE: Your eEdge website is a slighty more advanced & customizable website than your KW website, and it includes a blog. However, any leads capture by your eEdge website will be capture to your eEdge database (not your Command database). eEdge is being replaced by KW Command, so you will likely not use the eEdge platform. Wes can discuss this option with you at our meeting.
SIDENOTE: Purchasing a Domain Name
It's recommended that your purchase a domain name from Hover to forward to your KW website. A domain name is very inexpensive (about $15/year), and provides the following benefits...

EASE OF USE & AESTHETICS: A domain name such as weskennedy.com is easier for people to understand instead of a URL that uses a subdomain like weskennedy.kw.com; it also looks nicer/simpler, and takes up less space on business cards & other designs.

FLEXIBILITY: If you ever decide to change to a different website in the future or have a custom site designed, you can point your domain name to your new website without having to print new business cards or update your URLs on social media, email signatures, etc. If you choose to use your original KW Website URL, it will ALWAYS point to your KW Website.

OWNERSHIP: Once you purchase your domain name, you own it; no one else can claim it. This is especially why you should purchase your first & last name as a domain name if it is available (it's also a good thing to do for your kids).

NOTE: KWRI does not allow agents to use KW trademarks in their domain name, for example: kellerwilliamshomes.com or weskennedykw.com. Also, NAR only allows agents to use the REALTOR® trademark in their domain name if it is preceded by the agent’s name (e.g, weskennedyrealtor.com is acceptable, but bestoklahomarealtor.com is not.) Wes can assist you with choosing & purchasing a domain name at our New Agent Tech Meeting.

Your KW Mobile App
Your Mobile App URL ends with your "branding code". By sending this URL to your clients, the link will take them to download the KW mobile app. When the app opens, it will see your branding code, then the app will automatically brand itself to you. Your client using the app will be captured to your KW Command contact database, their viewed & favorited listings will be tracked in their contact details, and they'll be able to see their location in your transaction process all from the app. Wes will help you download & brand your app at our meeting.

Michael Lewis Marketing Suite
Michael Lewis Marketing Suite (MLMS) is an official KW partner print & marketing service available to each of our agents. You may log in at michaellewismarketingsuite.com with the email address (typically, your KW email address) on your New Agent Tech Info Sheet, and the default password of mlmspassword. MLMS is just one other option of have for print & marketing services in addition to what's included with eEdge and KW Command. Typically, most agents first use MLMS to design & order their business cards (about $45 for 500 high quality, glossy cards).

KWKLY Text-to-Lead
KWKLY is a drive-by lead capture service provided for FREE to our agents. When you have a listing, purchase a KWKLY sign rider from an office's Front Desk for about $5 (the signs are corrugated plastic, and reusable), then place the KWKLY rider on top of your For Sale sign. When potential buyers drive by your listing, they can text howmuch to 59559 (this is explained on the sign rider). KWKLY will reply back to them asking for the address they want more info about. When the buyers send the address, KWKLY will send them the listing info & photos to their phone. YOU, the agent, will also instantly receive the buyer's phone number they texted from to call them back!
Picture
There is NOTHING you need to do to make KWKLY work other than use the sign riders on your For Sale signs; everything else is automated. KWKLY is a fantastic way to capture buyer leads for your own listings, and you should ALWAYS use a sign rider on EVERY ONE of your listings!

NOTE: KWKLY also captures leads on other brokerage's listings that don't use KWKLY! These leads are automatically distributed to our agents who've proven they can convert buyer leads by attending a Lead Conversion class. When you receive one of these leads via text message, you will have 5 minutes to reply back with Y to claim the lead. When you reply to claim the lead, you will then receive their phone number. If you don't reply within 5 minutes, KWKLY will send the opportunity to the next agent on the list, and you will lose your chance. Please email Andrew Holder for getting on this special lead distribution list.

Around the Office
  • DOOR CODE: Your door code is likely the last 4 digits of your SSN (or last 4 of phone number) followed by the # sign. Our OKC office has keypads at the front & back doors. The front door is unlocked during business hours, and the back door is always locked, requiring keypad access. Your door code will allow you 24/7 access to the office. If you need access to our Yukon office, you will need to request to be entered into those doors from yukon@kweliteokc.com and include your door code in your email. NEVER SHARE YOUR DOOR CODE WITH ANYONE!
NOTE: Door codes for the Yukon office end with * instead of #.

  • PRINTER PIN: Your printer PIN is the same as your door code, and allows you to print & copy from the office printers. You are allowed 100 free color free imprints and 200 free B&W imprints each month (an imprint is a copy or computer printout). After your 100 color or 100 B&W imprints are used, the charge is 25¢ per color imprint and 5¢ per B&W imprint. Do not attempt to install office printers on your computer on your own. Wes will do this for you at our meeting.

  • MAILBOX: If you are not renting office space, then any physical mail you receive will be delivered to your mailbox in the office. Your mailbox number is shown on your New Agent Tech Info Sheet. If your are renting an office (or on a team with an agent renting an office), your mail will instead be delivered to your/your rainmaker's office. The OKC office's mailboxes are located next to the Kitchen near the Cubicles area. Our Yukon office's mailboxes are located in the Resource Room (computer lab).

Resource Room Computers
Each office location has a set of shared Windows computers for our agents to freely use. The password to use them is kwagent (all one word, all lowercase). These are shared computers using a single, shared user account. Upon logout, any sites you logged into will be logged out of, and any files you download will be deleted, so save any files you need to keep to a USB drive or online storage like Dropbox or Google Drive. If you do not log out of when you are finished, someone else may be able to access any of your files or sites you logged into--ALWAYS LOG OUT WHEN FINISHED.

NOTE: You may log into any websites safely, but DO NOT log into installed apps like Windows Mail/Calendar, OneDrive, etc. These are installed apps, not websites, and will NOT be logged out of upon logout of the Agent account; your files, emails, etc. will remain on the computer and be accessible to other users after logout. Only websites will get logged out of.

KW Whitepages Profile
Your KW Whitepages Profile is the first, and most basic of many KW-related profiles you'll need to complete. You should complete this profile as soon as possible. It determines many important things like your headshot visibility, searchability by potential clients on KW websites & mobile apps, and contact & password reset email addresses.

You'll find access to your Whitepages Profile using the Profile link in the top-left of myKW where your name, the Profile Completeness bar, and your headshot photo (if uploaded) is located. You should aim to fill your Profile Completeness bar to 90%–100%. Wes will help you complete your Whitepages Profile when we meet.

eEdge Control Panel
Your eEdge Control Panel contains all of the modules of the eEdge CRM & marketing platform. It's located in the top-center of myKW. eEdge is one option available to you in addition to KW Command. Both eEdge and Command offer a contacts database, website, marketing materials, and automated marketing campaigns. KW Command is the newer platform that is slowly replacing eEdge. You can discuss which platform is best for you when you meet with Wes.

KWLS (How Listing Syndication Works)
As a member of Keller Williams Realty, your listings receive special treatment on Trulia & Zillow websites. Normally, Trulia & Zillow remove the listing agent from the listing page, and display 3 to 4 agents who pay Trulia & Zillow to appear on other agents' listings. Your membership with KW means that those agents will be removed, and ONLY YOU will appear on your listings' pages!

The process works as follows: You only need to enter your listing into the MLS. Within 24 hours, your listing will automatically syndicate to the KWLS (Keller Williams Listing System). KWLS will then syndicate your listing to Trulia, Zillow, and hundreds of other websites. When you listing arrives at Trulia & Zillow from the KWLS, only you & your phone number will be displayed on your listning.

NOTE: Full syndication to Trulia & Zillow can take up to 72 hours. Also, this process can be thrown off by many factors. You should make habit of checking Trulia & Zillow every day after entering your listing into MLS to make sure the syndication process has completed correctly. After 72 hours, if your listing has not syndicated or syndicated incorrectly, email Wes describing the issue.

ALSO NOTE: You will need to create a free Trulia & Zillow agent profile in order for your headshot photo & info to appear on your listings.

30-60-90 Day Technology Checklist

ASAP
  • NEW AGENT TECH INFO MEETING: Read everything on this page above & schedule your New Agent Tech Meeting with Wes.

  • OFFICE PRINTERS: Bring your laptop to our meeting to install our office printers, and to install Firefox to set it with our office homepage.

  • MOBILE APPS: Download the following apps onto your phone: Kelle, KW Realty, and DocuSign. Please ask Wes for help logging into & branding these apps to yourself. DO NOT create a new DocuSign account in the app. One has already been created for you.

  • SHARE YOUR APP: Practice sharing your mobile app URL from your branded app to friends & family members. Also make sure to practice manually branding the app if branding with your mobile app URL doesn't work.

  • OFFICE FACEBOOK GROUP: Request to join our office’s private Facebook group at facebook.kweliteokc.com. Try searching for a topic using the Search This Group search box on the left side.

  • KW WHITEPAGES PROFILE: Complete your KW Whitepages Profile up to 90% to 100%. Verify your cell phone number in your profile. Email Wes with your bio & full social media profile URLs for correctly adding to your profile. Include your professional headshot photo in your email if you didn't submit it previously.

  • DOMAIN NAME: Buy a domain name from Hover (you’ll get $2 off your domain name). If your desired domain name is already claimed, try adding okc or homes to the end of it. Email Wes with BOTH your username & password to forward your domain name to your eEdge or KW website.

NOTE: KWRI does not allow agents to use KW trademarks in their domain name, for example: kellerwilliamshomes.com or weskennedykw.com. Also, NAR only allows agents to use the REALTOR® trademark in their domain name if it is preceded by the agent’s name (e.g, weskennedyrealtor.com is acceptable, but bestoklahomarealtor.com is not). Please ask Wes for advice/suggestions before purchasing your domain name.

  • HEADSHOT PHOTO: Schedule a headshot photo appointment with Creel McFarland at Limerick Studio. Submit your photo at headshotupload.kweliteokc.com. (You can do this later if you don't need a headshot on your 50 free starter business cards.) For best results creating a transparent background, take a photo in front of a solid-color background that stands out from your clothes and especially hair (light gray or bright green works well). Leave at least one full shoulder uncropped in the photo (both shoulders in the photo is better). Request the original, uncropped, full-resolution image from your photographer.

  • STARTER BUSINESS CARDS: Pick & print your 50 free starter business cards with Wes at your New Agent Tech Meeting. These are quick, basic cards to get you started on promoting yourself and/or holding an open house ASAP while waiting on your professional business cards to arrive.
  • PROFESSIONAL BUSINESS CARDS: Upload your professional headshot photo & official KW Elite logo to your Michael Lewis Marketing Suite profile, then design & order your professional, glossy, high-quality business cards from MLMS.

  • JOIN THE MLS: It's required that all agents join a local REALTOR® association & MLS. You'll receive an MLS ID (typically your first initial & last name or your license number) for logging into the MLS. This MLS ID is also EXTREMELY important for making much of your real estate technology function (KWKLY, KWLS syndication, website IDX feed, etc). Email Wes with your MLS ID as soon as you receive it.

  • ZILLOW AGENT PROFILE: Search Google for zillow agent profile to set up a free agent profile with Trulia & Zillow to take advantage of special KWLS branding. Creating the account on one site creates a profile for both. Make sure to upload your professional headshot photo to your agent profile(s).

First 30 Days
  • COMMAND CONTACTS: Export your contacts from your phone into a CSV file with the My Contacts Backup app. Narrow down your contacts to the 100 to 200 best candidates for importing into your database to start your business. Copy & paste the columns into the KW Command Contacts CSV Import Template, then email it to Wes for importing into Command.

  • COMMAND MARKETING PROFILE: Watch this video for help setting up your KW Command Marketing Profile. Setting up your Marketing Profile will automatically feed your headshot, contact info, custom domain, and social medial links into your KW Command Website and Command Designs marketing pieces.

  • COMMAND REFERRALS PROFILE: Watch this video for help setting up your KW Command Referrals Profile. This is the profile other KW agents outside the OKC metro will see when searching for a referral agent in Oklahoma.

First 60 Days
  • COMMAND WEBSITE: Watch this video for help setting up & launching your KW Command Website. Once this site is set up, your Command Website will allow your clients to search for listings, and you can see their searched-for and favorited listings in your Command Contacts database.

First 90 Days
  • DOCUSIGN SETUP: When you're ready to sign your first contract, email Wes to create & connect your DocuSign account to KW Command. DO NOT attempt to do this on your own!

  • COMPLIANCE & DOCUSIGN TRAINING: Once you've contacted Wes to set up your DocuSign account for Command, look for an upcoming Command Compliance & DocuSign training or watch a video on Command Compliance and DocuSign.

First 6 Months
  • POST-LICENSING: Sign up to take a 45-hour Post-Licensing course within your first 6 months (180 days) of obtaining your real estate license. You can sign up for a course at www.wrighteducationcourses.com. Failure to pass a Post-Licensing course within this time will cause you to lose your license.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Should I buy a laptop or iPad?
You should absolutely purchase a laptop BEFORE an iPad or any tablet. You can be much more productive on a laptop, and will have fewer general computing obstacles using a laptop vs. an iPad or tablet. An iPad can come later, and they make you look very techy when presenting a listing presentation, CMA, or signing documents with your clients. When you decide to purchase a tablet, an iPad is recommended over any other tablet.
  • Okay, I'll buy a laptop. Should I buy a Mac or Windows laptop?
Wes STRONGLY recommends that you use a Mac laptop. While they are typically more expensive up front (between $800 to $1,300 depending if you get one on sale), you can actually save money because of all the valuable software built into them vs. what you would need to purchase additionally with Windows PC. The chart to the right shows you some of the useful software you'll use as a REALTOR® that's built right into a Mac vs. what you'd have to pay for additionally on a PC. Not to mention, your other Apple devices work in conjunction with your Mac providing conveniences such as texting, phone calls, and photos snapped on your iPhone automatically syncing to your Mac, and proximity unlocking your Mac with an Apple Watch.
Picture

  • Okay, I'll buy a Mac laptop. Which one should I buy?
As of May 2020, Wes recommends the 2020 13" MacBook Air ($900 – $1,100 with $100 upgrade to Core i5 processor) or 2020 13" MacBook Pro ($1,000 to $1,300). Either should have an Intel Core i5 processor, 8 GB RAM, and 256 GB SSD storage. Best Buy is usually best to purchase from, and commonly has sales up to $200 or $300 off. Wes also offers an $80 New Mac Setup service to make sure you're set up correctly, taking full advantage of your Mac, and ready to get to work when you get back it in your hands.
Picture
  • What other technology should I focus on as a new agent?
The most important piece of technology for you as a new agent is your database. You should identify your top 100 or 200 contacts with the most potential to buy or sell a home with you as soon as possible. For most agents, these contacts will be in your phone, and can be exported with the My Contacts Backup app, entered into the KW Command Contacts CSV Import Template, then emailed to Wes for importing into KW Command. Once imported into Command, you should then focus on introducing your new real estate business to your database via the Database Mastery DTD2 method, taking call notes, and creating a system for following-up on referrals and future opportunities.
  • What is the Database Mastery DTD2 system?
If you're initially only importing around 200 contacts into your database, you'll probably want to call all of them within about a week to introduce them to your new real estate business. However, after your initial introduction, you'll then want to use the DTD2 system from then on for making follow up phone calls.

DTD2 is a part of your larger 33 Touch marketing campaign, and covers the phone call portion of your 33 Touch. It's a systematic way of calling your database over the course of a year. You start by grouping your contacts by their last name (in your Command contacts database, grouping is instead called tagging) into 13 two-letter groups such as A&W, B&E, D&O, etc. You can see these groups to the right. Once all of your contacts have been grouped into one of these 13 groups, each week you then call everyone in that group. (If you don't get ahold of them, there is also something call the 3 Attempt Approach.) The next week, you call the next group. By the end of each quarter, you've gone through all of your groups, and therefore have called everyone in your database. Repeat calling your DTD2 groups each quarter, and at the end of the year, you've called everyone in your database 4 times. For ideas on what to call about & what conversations to have, look for a Database Mastery class on the office Training & Events calendar.

  • Should I use my eEdge or Command website?
While your eEdge website may have more functionality and customizability, the truth is KW is moving to the Command platform. You should start with your KW website since it's pretty quick to set up, but if you decide that you don't like it, you can decide to set up & use your eEdge website later. Just understand that your eEdge website will capture leads to your eEdge database, not your Command database. So you might also decide to switch from Command entirely to using the eEdge platform, or manually enter leads generated from your eEdge website into your Command database if you decide on a "hybrid" system.

  • Do I need to set up a Facebook Business Page?
No. Not until you decide to COMMIT to using it "correctly". This means posting purposeful, meaningful content on a consistent basis, and possibly running ads that generate good, qualified leads. To do this correctly involves a high level of marketing savvy. If you want to know what's involved, Wes recommends reading "The Conversion Code" by Chris Smith. If the contents of the book go over your head, or you can't commit to doing what it requires, you're probably better off leaving a Facebook Business Page alone for now, especially if you're a brand new agent. Or you can leverage your Facebook marketing to a professional marketer (although this is an expense you should probably not take on when you're new).
  • How can I create one of those fancy graphical email signatures with my face & logo in it?
Graphical email signatures aren't bad, but they're also not recommended over a simple text-based signature for a few reasons: (1) They can only link to one thing (such as your website) whereas in a text-based signature, your email address, phone number, office address, and website are all automatically detected as live, clickable links on most phones and email apps; (2) graphical email signatures appear incredibly small & unreadable on phones; (3) graphical signatures can be difficult to set up correctly, and differ among apps & services on how to insert them. You need to host the image somewhere, and insert the link as an inline image in your signature, otherwise, you may be sending it as an attachment every time, which is bad email etiquette. In short, just set up a simple, text-based signature with nice formatting (pictured to the right), then use the time you saved to focus on some money-making activities!

  • Do I need to create my "brand" (i.e., logo, color scheme, custom yard signs, branded email address, email signature, etc.)?
Not right now. Your main focus should be working your database, getting a buyer or listing as soon as possible, and learning the ropes of MLS and DocuSign or DotLoop. Your brand can come later, and professional branding can be an expensive and time-consuming tasks if done well. You'll want a professional designer to do much of the work, and some of it (such as branded email) requires technical know-how, and usually isn't necessary until you begin building a team.
